Start incorporating more fruits and vegetables into your diet. Fried foods and soft drinks are the worst enemies of a flat stomach.

A swollen belly is very common. We finish eating, and suddenly, we feel heavy. Our belly is then more voluminous, very different from the aspect we usually know. What happened ? Did we gain weight suddenly? How long will this bad feeling and this disturbing aspect last?

Indeed, it is about a very annoying phenomenon which one wishes to quickly get rid of. The swollen belly is caused by several factors. We can therefore alleviate this problem with simple advice. We will explain them to you here so  you can apply them quickly and change your diet.

Why do you have a swollen belly?

You eat too fast

If you eat too quickly, you will not be able to get satisfied quickly, on the contrary. You will still be hungry because this sensation takes a long time to reach the brain, between 20 and 25 minutes. In addition, when we eat too fast, we swallow a lot more air! It then stays in our abdomen and causes pain, which is very annoying.

On the other hand, if you don’t chew properly,  you are not ingesting salivary enzymes with your meals, which normally mix well with carbohydrates. Without this substance, these cannot ferment as they should in the intestine.

What can you do to avoid eating so fast?

For example, you can start by serving the dishes one by one during your meals. The first must be salads, of course. On the other hand, toasted bread requires you, for example, to chew slowly.

You eat too much fried food. Avoid them!

Breadings, fries, donuts and more are all filled with oil! Indeed, it is used during their preparation. These are obviously fats, and fats don’t digest well. They stay in our stomachs and make us bloat after each meal.

The solution: cook food in a pan, oven or steam, alternating with fried foods. Remember that olive oil permeates food much less. Also note that it is always advisable to let the fried products rest on absorbent paper, as this will remove the excess oil.

Remedies for a swollen bellyYou drink a lot of carbonated drinks

Drinking carbonated drinks makes your stomach fuller, that’s for sure. In addition, if they contain sugar, we swallow empty calories, as we usually call them. They give us a lot of energy and help us gain weight.

Carbonated water, even though it does not contain calories, can also cause that bloated stomach feeling. Besides, it’s even worse if you drink it during meals!

Fibers, in their proper measure

If you consume too little fiber, you can quickly suffer from constipation. But eating more than the body accepts is also negative! It is better to consume it in a balanced way. Indeed, eating too much can cause diarrhea and bloating.

Monitor your digestive enzymes

Certain foods cause our digestive enzymes to disappear, because they are exhausted in advance, which is the case with foods containing white flour, such as for example breakfast cereals, bread, cookies, pasta. or even rice.

Indeed, these foods do not contain these enzymes, and yet they are necessary for our digestive system. All this therefore results in a much less powerful digestive force, which then drifts into bloating, gas, etc.

Eat whole foods

The nutritional benefits of whole foods are incomparable: vitamins, minerals, fibers, antioxidants…   In addition, they provide us with enzymes with positive effects on the digestive system. Without a doubt, these foods therefore allow us to fight against the swollen belly.
